Lakeside Christian Academy Welcomes New Vice Principal: A Season of Growth and Leadership

Big things are happening at Lakeside Christian Academy, and we’re thrilled to share one of the most exciting updates yet—the official hiring of our new Vice Principal!

As a private Christian school in Slidell, Louisiana, we believe that strong, faith-filled leadership is essential to cultivating a thriving school environment. That’s why we are proud to welcome someone who embodies excellence, experience, and a deep heart for our mission.

Meet Our New Vice Principal: Monique Wells

A proud Slidell resident of almost 30 years, our new Vice Principal brings not only years of community connection but also a passion for education, faith, and family. She’s been married to her husband Jeremy for 10 years, and together they’re raising four amazing kids: Joseph (15), Aileigh (14), Preston (8), and Logan (6). Their family also owns Fortitude CrossFit, a local gym they’ve operated for the past 12 years.

Her journey at Lakeside began 2 ½ years ago as a substitute teacher. That quickly turned into two years of classroom teaching—and now, she steps into leadership with a heart to serve and a vision to help Lakeside flourish. Her family has been deeply committed to the mission of LCA since enrolling Preston in 2021, and they continue to be an integral part of our school community.

She’s a lifelong member of The Rock Church, carrying strong Cajun roots from Church Point, Louisiana. After graduating from Church Point High School in 2005, she pursued college at ULL and LSUE, eventually moving back to Slidell in 2008. A self-proclaimed math and reading nerd, she brings a love of learning and a deep desire to see students thrive academically and spiritually.

Training for Excellence

At Lakeside, we are committed to investing in leadership that grows alongside our school. This month, our new Vice Principal—along with other members of our leadership team—participated in a 3-day Principal’s Conference hosted by Abeka at Pensacola Christian Academy. This immersive training provided practical tools for school administration, curriculum development, and leading with biblical wisdom.

But the professional development doesn’t stop there. In June, our administrative team will also attend the Louisiana Department of Education’s Teacher/Leader Summit, joining educators from across the state for workshops, training sessions, and collaborative learning focused on student success and school improvement.
