A New Season of Leadership: Dr. Ryan Perkins Named Head of School for 2026–2027

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter in the story of Lakeside Christian Academy.

Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, our current principal, Dr. Ryan Perkins, will step into the role of Head of School, while continuing to serve faithfully as Principal. In this dual role, Dr. Perkins will provide both day-to-day leadership and high-level vision, guiding Lakeside forward with clarity, excellence, and deep spiritual conviction.

This is a moment of great joy and anticipation for our school community. We believe wholeheartedly that God has uniquely prepared Dr. Perkins for this season—and that He has brought him to Lakeside for such a time as this.

A Kingdom Leader with a Heart for the Next Generation

Born and raised in Folsom, Louisiana, Dr. Perkins is a passionate Kingdom leader, educator, and visionary with more than two decades of pastoral and community leadership. He is the Senior Leader and Pastor of Pure In Heart Worship Center, a thriving ministry with campuses in both Folsom and Bogalusa.

A true shepherd at heart, Pastor Perkins’ influence reaches far beyond church walls. He has led outreach on college campuses, spearheaded national faith initiatives such as the Read Your Bible Initiative, and consistently invested in raising up bold believers who live out their faith with courage and integrity.

His ministry journey began at just 19 years old, when he surrendered his life to Christ and launched a campus ministry at Southern University. From that moment forward, his life has been marked by obedience, service, and a relentless pursuit of God’s calling.

A Mentor, Educator, and Builder of Culture

Dr. Perkins brings a rare blend of spiritual depth and practical leadership. He is a John Maxwell Certified Life Coach, a former Bible teacher and chapel speaker, and a former coach for both girls’ and boys’ basketball teams. Whether in the classroom, the chapel, or on the court, his passion for mentoring young people shines through.

His educational background reflects his commitment to excellence, with a bachelor’s degree in History, a master’s degree in Social Work, and completion of his Doctorate in Ministry at South College.

At the heart of his leadership is a deep desire to cultivate environments where biblical truth is lived, taught, and celebrated. He is known for building cultures rooted in purity, purpose, accountability, and faith.

A Man of Faith, Family, and Legacy

Dr. Perkins’ personal motto—“Be for others what they weren’t for you”—is evident in every area of his life. He has been married to his wife, Taylor, for 18 years, and together they are the proud parents of six biological children and five adopted children. Their family is a beautiful testimony of love, faith, and generational legacy grounded in the Word of God.

Above all, Dr. Perkins is committed to raising up the next generation to know Christ, walk in truth, and lead with boldness.

As Head of School, Dr. Perkins will lead Lakeside at a strategic and visionary level—championing academic excellence, spiritual formation, campus growth, and long-term sustainability. His leadership will help guide us as we pursue our mission to become the premier private Christian school on the Gulf Coast.

With clear goals, strong systems, and bold faith, Dr. Perkins is poised to lead Lakeside into a season of growth, unity, and impact.
